| The most enjoyable thing about gardening is making the choice of plants to create the
effect that you want. This is normally a simple choice, but is it? There are one or two factors that need to be taken into account before you buy.
We have featured soils and the way that they can affect the choice of plants, now we need to look at location, both within the garden and within the country. The choice of plants will be determined by several location factors. How high are you above sea level, is it windy, or in a valley where frosts may linger and are you near the sea? All these factors should be taken into account when choosing plants. Within the garden there are other factors, the macro climate, the amount of sun and shade, boggy or well drained soil, wind, frost traps and the time needed to maintain the plants all need to be taken into consideration.
